Dear Parents,
With Catholic Schools Week coming to an end I would like to thank all for your support and enthusiasm!
Congratulations to our 8th Graders in honor of their high school acceptances and scholarship. Our students have received $99,000 in academic scholarships! We are so very proud of all your efforts. But the year is not over yet, there is still much learning to take place.
Below are a few "Study Smarts":
Start a habit - Encourage your child to treat studying as a daily habit, not just the evening before the test. After regular homework, he should study his notes for 15 minutes or so.
If your child has a chapter to study, have her "preview" it to increase her understanding. She should begin by glancing over the headings, graphics, and photos. Remember to review the boldfaced words using the glossary.
If a child reviews information in several ways, he'll be more likely to remember it. He can use index cards to create flashcards, perhaps using various colored pencils. He can also recite facts aloud and spell spelling words aloud as well.
Please continue to utilize our homework clubs offered Monday-Thursday.
Some important dates:
Feb. 14th , 2:20-4:00 - Soccer Pizza Party
Feb. 17 & 20 - School Closed
Feb. 24th - Daddy/Daughter Dance, 7:00-9:30 PM
Re-registration is taking place now. If your child has not brought home a re-registration form please call the school office.
New registration is currently being accepted as well.
God Bless, Mrs. Telle
